"The most beautiful thing that we can experience
is mystery"
Albert Einstein
As people, we need to understand the world, to
acquire a technical knowledge so as to develop, to learn that
which is new. Each generation leaves tools and immutable gestures
to the next one, one closed memory, but also a scientific culture
that is the fruit of investigations, successes and failures, methods
and principles... There have been times of great commotion and
others of steady and prolonged work. During the former, everything
is put under examination, everything is attacked, and the result
is usually a prodigious leap forward. Many of these moments are
represented in the History of Science by celebrated scientific
experiments, and the replicas of the pieces used in these experiments
form part of the content of eStudiolo de Péndulum.
Some of eStudiolo de Péndulum's pieces are identical
to the original ones, and the designs of their authors (Volta,
Leonardo da Vinci, Newton...) have been used to construct them,
using original materials: brass, copper, steel, fine wood, bone...;
while the manufacture and form of others throw themselves open
to the imagination. All of them work in a similar way to how they
did in their own time and they are conceived in the spirit of
instruction and with artistic flair.
During the Renaissance,the Estudioli was
a library or cabinet of curiosities for experimentation; sometimes
they were arranged as small chambers entered only by their owner,
while others were great workshops, conceived as spaces in which
artists and scientists could meet and discuss together.
EStudiolo de Péndulum recreates an atmosphere for
study and reflection in which the aim is to offer sufficient amounts
of surprise, beauty and knowledge to satisfy all levels of curiosity.
With this philosophy we present eStudiolo de Péndulum's
new web page, the store with gifts for lovers of science and knowledge.
We hoped that you like it.
